Emmett McGuire is a technical consultant with 27 years experience in software design, programming and management. He has created Internet, client/server, batch and online systems on a variety of platforms since the early 1970's.

He began his career as a staff programmer at S.U.N.Y., Purchase, developing and maintaining academic systems, (Admissions, Housing, MasterSchedule, Student Records DB, Registration), in FORTRAN, COBOL and APL. He moved on to work for several New York consulting firms,(Informatics/Programming Methods, Co., Spiridellis and Associates, Inc., Program Resources, Inc.), where he developed mainframe batch COBOL systems for Xerox - (Machine Reliability Reporting System, Level of Service), McCrory/Newberry Stores - (IBM DOS to OS conversion), Dupont - (EEO Statistical Reporting), Blue Cross/Blue Shield - (Claims Processing) and Warner-Lambert - (Major Market Sales Analysis).

In the late 1970's he expanded into minicomputers, telecommunications and local area networks when he created Copyright Compliance, Inventory Control and Home Health Care Accounting systems on Datapoint ARCs for Exxon Research & Engineering, The New York Times-Cambridge Books, and Visiting Nurses Association of Brooklyn. In 1981, he incorporated Labyrinth Enterprises to provide consulting services and developed international financial data collection systems for ITT programmed in DATABUS, C, and BASIC, (Deferred Compensation -401k, General Ledger Accounting System, Investment and Savings).

He joined the staff of Sterling Drug, Inc. in late 1984 as a manager of MIS in the company’s International Division where he was in charge of the operations and development efforts of the headquarter’s staff as well as coordinating worldwide reporting. He was responsible for the departmental budget, performance appraisals, managerial reporting and he assumed a lead technical role in major projects, both mainframe and PC based, using COBOL, CICS, INQUIRE, DB2, REXX, PARADOX, PASCAL, BASIC and LOTUS. He led the effort to automate the company’s international reporting through the integration of PC and mainframe systems using global telecommunications and the corporate WAN.

In 1990, Emmett McGuire incorporated Computer Research Associates, Inc. to provide computer consulting services on a contractual basis. Since that time he developed PC LAN based systems for Citicorp - (Account Profitability, Commercial Paper Portfolio Analysis, Credit Portfolio System), Winthrop Pharmaceuticals - (International Product Transfer System), Sanofi Pharmaceuticals - (Intercompany Inventory and Unit Pricing System) and Ardis Health Care - (Patient Information and Billing, Internet Connectivity) in the DOS, Windows 3.x and Windows 95 environment using DELPHI, PASCAL, SYBASE, ORACLE, PARADOX, MS ACCESS, Visual BASIC and C++.

His current technical focus is in designing and programming Internet and client/server systems for the Windows NT/9x platforms using C++, PERL, Visual Basic, DELPHI, MS Backoffice, IBM DB2/UDB and MS ACCESS. He is also availble for programming COBOL for the IBM mainframe.
